TRANQUILITY LODGE IS A FOURTH YEAR RUNNING AWARD WINNING HONEYMOON DESTINATION IN SOUTH AFRICA!!
Situated in the heart of the hamlet of Natures Valley, which is part of the Tsitsikamma National Park on the Garden Route, we are surrounded by spectacular beaches and the sound of crashing waves is interspersed only with that of the garden's singing birds and trickling water features. We are approximately 50 m from the beach where you can lay soaking up the sun while watching dolphins playing in the surf or the breaching whales celebrating new life.
The lodge is mostly wooden in structure and truly blends with the natural forest in Natures Valley. Boasting a lush and natural garden that makes you feel you really are hidden away from the world around you. The garden is host to a swimming pool, as well as a private and unique hotpool. This is a Honeymooners paradise!
We have 3 different room types from our Standard Double Rooms which have an en-suite shower only, our Superior Doubles which have an en-suite bath / shower combo and our luxury Honeymoon Suite. This boasts a handmade king-size yellowwood bed, large Jucuzzi-tub, double shower, fireplace and private deck. A room for every wish, every desire, every budget.
Breakfast is enjoyed on our open dining area located on our second story outdoor verandah looking into the top of the canopy trees giving you the feel of being in a tree-house. Enjoy your meal while watching the local birds feed from our bird-feeders. Not only the casual birder but even the ardent "twitcher" will enjoy this sight as we have a multitude of sunbirds visiting the lodge each morning. If you wish to enjoy more bird watching take a walk on our beach or by the lagoon as Natures Valley has been the place where sightings of the Knysna Turaco (Lourie), Narina Trogon, Blackheaded Oriole, African Black Oystercatcher & the ever elusive African Finfoot, just to name a few of the specials have been "spotted". We guarantee you will notch up one or two unique sightings.
Some of the most magnificent hiking trails with unrivalled views of sea, forest, waterfalls and lagoon will leave you breathless. Our Salt River trail is a favourite add-on to the famous Otter Trail (one we fondly call our "mini otter"). If you are an early riser, you may be lucky enough to spot our resident family of otters on the beach or scrambling over the rocks. Regular Bush Buck and Bush Pig sightings in the village will enthrall you and there is always the chance of the elusive leopards that hide out in the forest. If hiking is not your forte why not take one of our double sit upon kayaks (free for our clients to use) and explore the Groot River Lagoon.
For those who love fishing, we have the full range of options from surf and rock to flying fishing in the lagoon with many different species to challenge the intrepid fisherman.
Let us pack you a picnic with a bottle of wine and a blanket, grab a torch and head towards the beach shortly before sunset. Unwind with your special person, while watching the sun slips behind the horizon of the Indian Ocean. Listen as our nightlife awake with the hypnotizing sound of the waves breaking in the background. Lay back and look up as the stars twinkle like diamonds on the black velvety sky.
Whether it is for work or to update your twitter and face book pages bring along your laptop as we have wireless Internet for you to use.
So pack your Binoculars, Cameras, Swimming Gear, Walking Shoes, Suntan Lotion and a Will to unwind and relax and join us and explore our piece of Paradise in whichever way you fancy, for however long your heart desire.
We await your arrival in anticipation.
